Slovak ambassador calls on FOI

Slovak Ambassador Stanislav Vallo, accompanied by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Slovakia Godwin Bencini, made a courtesy call on the FOI president Adrian Bajada and director general Wilfred Kenely earlier this month.

During the meeting the ambassador stressed on the need of an awareness campaign on Slovakia to be conducted in Malta, as well as a similar campaign on Malta to be conducted in Slovakia, particularly in view of tourism and trade opportunities between the two countries.

The two countries could be viewed as complementing each other when focusing on the tourism sector as Slovakia is an inland economy boasting mountains, country scenery and winter sports like skiing, while Malta offered the sun and sea, as well as its historical sites. The importance of encouraging mutual beneficial investment and trade opportunities between the countries was also highlighted.
