Moamr Ali Melad El Tarhuni, a 20-year-old Libyan residing in Marsascala, yesterday was arraigned before Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani and charged with attempted murder.

The magistrate heard El Tarhuni plead not guilty to stabbing Shokri Ali Al Alwani with a knife on May 25 in Marsascala, of seriously injuring Aimen Al Ghanemi and of being in possession of a knife without a licence.

El Tarhuni was remanded in custody.

Lawyer Anthony Cutajar was the accused's legal counsel. Police Inspectors Carmelo Magri and Alexander Grech prosecuted.
