On June 12, the Foundation for Human Resources Development is launching its 2006 HR Awards at a breakfast meeting, sponsored by the Westin Dragonara Resort.

This year, the FHRD is recognising companies for their excellence in people management and their excellence in training and development. In order to instil the need for more innovation in people management and development, the FHRD is also awarding companies for their best initiatives in HR, and in Training and Development.

Added to these awards, a special focus will be given to those companies with a maximum labour force of 50 people. For this purpose FHRD is offering an award for the Best People Initiative in SMEs.

Details of these awards will be given during the breakfast meeting at the Westin and, if necessary, during other presentations the FHRD is ready to deliver at its premises. Furthermore, in collaboration with Malta Enterprise, a presentation on these awards will be held on Wednesday, June 15, at 8.30 a.m. at Malta Enterprise. All SMEs employing up to 50 people are encouraged to attend.

This year FHRD has joined forces with a group of professionals in the Human Resource and Training and Development domains, who will be forming two judging committees for the selection of these awards. These professionals are seen in the picture on right (standing, from left): Paul Gauci, Norman Mifsud, FHRD president Noel Scerri, Felix Borg and Antoinette Caruana; and (sitting, from left): Silvio Debono, Patrick Psaila, Katie Birch and Jozie Devoy. Not in the photo are FHRD CEO Maria Pia Chircop, Jackie Fenech, Joe Cutajar and Kenneth Formosa.
