Mother's Day

On the occasion of Mother's Day, members of the NCW's Social Issues Committee, led by their co-ordinator Rita Camilleri, visited three shelter homes for women: Dar Merhba Bik, Dar Qalb ta' Gesù and Dar Tereza Spinelli.

The visit aimed to show solidarity with some 32 mothers with children and single women who are passing through a difficult period. The occasion was also an opportunity to learn from the women concerned about their plight and to talk to the social workers who run the homes.

The NCW delegation presented the residents with a hamper full of toiletries, biscuits, snacks, sweets and other gifts, which were donated by various sponsors.
