Four hundred supporters of the MGLobby signed on to our Open Letter which appeared in The Times and Il-Gens last March. As readers will be aware, matters have snowballed since then and, due to the overwhelming response we received, we have now organised ourselves into an environmental pressure group. This group has been called Flimkien ghal Ambjent Ahjar (Together for a Better Environment), a name which we feel better reflects what we are fighting for.
We would like to ask those who signed the Open Letter, as well as anyone who is fed up of the ongoing degradation everywhere in Malta, to access our website www.ambjentahjar.org. There they can register as supporters, post comments and find a wealth of information about Malta's environment and heritage.
Those who do not have access to the internet can send their name and contact details to us at: Flimkien ghal Ambjent Ahjar, PO Box 41, Sliema 01. We are also keen to hear from volunteers who can contribute a little time to environmental matters.
Our first activity is going to be a public rally to proclaim that we cannot take a further loss of our quality of life, on Saturday, June 10, starting at 10 a.m. from City Gate in Valletta. Readers may wish to inform and bring along family and friends.
Do not miss this opportunity to move on from grumbling to doing something about it - be there!
