The Malta Rugby Football Union have just announced its list of players for the women's Rugby Sevens Championship in Limoges, France, this week.

It will be the Malta side's second participation at international level following Prague 2005. The team is still in its infancy and selection is restricted from a pool of only 40 players. However, women's rugby in Malta is developing fast also thanks to the involvement of MRFU national coach Damian Neill.

Malta selection: Colette Abela, Amanda Cassar, Charlene Vassallo, Charmaine Gauci (captain), Esther Farrugia (vice-captain), Adelaide Sammut, Joanne Fava, Ritienne Bondin, Dorianne Borg, Emma Fenech Soler.

Officials: Carmelo Longo (coach); Audrey Vella (team manager) and Steve Cilia (physio).

Malta play their first pool matches tomorrow against Poland, Austria, Hungary and Andorra. The play-offs for final rankings will be held on Saturday.
