No one was injured in a fire in the laundry room of the View Hotel at The Strand, Gzira, early yesterday morning, the police said.

The police added they were informed that smoke was coming out of the hotel at 1.30 a.m.

Preliminary investigations indicated a fire in the hotel's laundry room and employees evacuated residents for security reasons.

Members of the Civil Protection Department controlled the fire.

Investigations continue.
