Folk singing festival next weekend

The ninth edition of the Malta National Folk Singing Festival will take place at Argotti Gardens from Friday to Sunday. Seven Maltese folk groups and musicians, as well as Mediterranean groups from Libya, Tunisia, Ragusa and Valencia will take part.

Seven Maltese folk groups and musicians, as well as Mediterranean groups from Libya, Tunisia, Ragusa and Valencia will take part. Guitarist Tony Pace will perform on Sunday.

Admission tickets are available from The Malta Council for Culture and the Arts at 230, Republic Street, Valletta or by calling on 2124 5168 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. They can also be obtained from St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity, Valletta by calling on 2122 3291 or at the door prior to the performance.

Tickets cost Lm1 for each evening. A three-day ticket for the price of Lm4 will also include a free double album CD of the National Folk Singing Festival 2005.
