Malta has taken part in the first EU fashion summit, held last week at Vienna's Grand Hoffburg Palace Ballroom.

The event grouped 25 young designers from all the EU member states who presented their visions on stage before top world fashion designers such as Valentino.

Austrian models paraded on the catwalk wearing dresses designed by Joseph Grima under his international label Mugi Couture.

The choice of fashion designers and the concept of the fashion show were made by Unit F, a platform for communication of contemporary fashion design with networks within the European fashion scene. Mr Grima said he felt honoured to represent Malta at this international event.

Although this was not a first for him in international events, the fact that he was representing his country's talent made the event much more special.

He said that through his creations Malta faired very well expressing his opinion that Malta was one of the top three participants.
