Triple Olympic gold medallist Marion Jones will compete in Europe this year after a successful 100 metres in Mexico recently, her manager said.

"She has been accepted and will run in Hengelo (May 28) and in the Golden League meet in Brussels (Aug. 25)," Charles Wells told Reuters.

Several major European promoters decided last year not to invite Jones and former partner Tim Montgomery to meetings because of their links to the BALCO doping scandal.

"We are also holding discussions with Ostrava (May 30), Athens (July 3) and the Golden League meet in Paris (July 8)," Wells added.

He said Jones, 30, would run a 100 metres in both Hengelo and Brussels.

Montgomery has since been banned from the sport for two years and stripped of his 2002 100 metres world record by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Jones has never been charged with a doping offence and has never failed a doping test although she has been under scrutiny by the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). She has repeatedly denied using performance-enhancing drugs.

She clocked 11.06 seconds for 100m in Mexico, the Saturday before last in her first race in 11 months. The time, set at altitude, is the third fastest of the season.

Although she has no US meetings on her schedule, she will compete in the 100 and 200 metres at the US championships in Indianapolis on June 22-25.

The championships are the US qualifier for the World Cup team event in Athens in September and Wells said she would compete in Greece if she qualifies.
