Mario Micallef is to give another performance of his one-man show Il-Qassis (The priest) at the Ministry for Gozo's Exhibition Hall in Victoria on Friday at 7.30 p.m.
The performance is being presented by the Talenti Dramatic Company in association with the Culture Organising Committee within the Gozo Ministry.
Micallef, who also wrote the script of this two-act play, plays no fewer than seven characters, with all the costume and make-up changes involved.
The plot revolves around Dun Pawl, a humble, conscientious priest who is believed to lead a serene, problem-free existence. The scene is set in Malta between the Sixties and 2001, with some scenes also set in Sicily.
Among the other characters in this play are Dun Pawl's sister Madalena; the archbishop; Antonio, a Mafia character; Salvu, the sacristan; and an Italian police inspector. Singer Diane Micallef and musician Vince Fabri are assisting in the production and there is one scene with two dancers.
Entrance is free and tickets may be collected from the Culture Office, Independence Square, Victoria.
