The second National ICT Achievements Awards (NICTAA) night is being held on Thursday at Le Méridien St Julian's.
This awards night is organised by the Malta Computer Society, who called for nominations to be shortlisted for the final countdown on Thursday at 7.30 p.m. The awards categories fall under: IT Companies, IT Projects, IT Products, e-business Solution, IT Education, Information Society and R&D.
From the list of nominated companies the following companies were shortlisted for the first, second and third placed awards for each of the above categories: 6PM, Crimsonwing, iP Limited, Exigy, MIIIT, Computer Domain, Megabyte, EBN, TCTC, Department of Education, Dionica R&D, Ing. Philip Farrugia.
A Lifetime Achievement Award will also be announced on the night, together with names of three University students from the Faculty of Science who were selected by the Board of Studies of IT, one each from Computer Systems Engineering, Computer Information Systems and Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.
The CSM this year received a record number of nominations and the standard achieved is extremely high. Some of the nominees, both from the public and private sectors, secured world class contracts and/or received recognition by the European Union.
The society was set up in 1992 as the national organisation representing ICT professionals in Malta. CSM actively participates in initiatives related to the development of the Information Society. It works to promote the ICT profession, the ICT industry and the use of ICT in the community.
