Rangers' French manager Paul Le Guen has revealed he plans to keep a strong Scottish influence in the side, even though he has not yet seen the Ibrox team play in the flesh.
Le Guen became the club's 12th manager in their 133-year history by replacing Alex McLeish at the end of the season after Rangers finished a disappointing third in the league.
"I know the team and we must have Scottish players in the team, that is important," Le Guen told the club's official magazine Rangers News.
"Perhaps there will be players from France. I want to have a good team but not too many French players - that would not be a good idea."
He added: "Having watched the DVDs I know there are good Scottish players at Rangers already."
Rangers skipper Barry Ferguson revealed he had insisted Rangers ask Le Guen if he was still wanted by the club and has been told he does figure in the Frenchman's plans.
Ferguson is expected to return to action in August after surgery to repair damaged ankle ligaments.
