The St Paul's Bay local council has condemned the act of vandalism which occurred on Thursday night near the government primary school Patri Felic Sammut, when the skips on the bring-in site allocated there were thrown into the sea.

Apart from having totally ruined the skips, which cost about Lm1,000, these vandals have polluted the sea, St Paul's Bay mayor Paul Bugeja said.

"The council would like to remind the public that last month it commemorated Earth Day by cleaning the seabed from Gillieru to Sirens in collaboration with Underwater World in which tens of sacks full of bottles and other waste were collected.

"On this occasion, four sets of skips were also donated to the government primary school Patri Felic Sammut as part of a campaign among the students to separate waste," Mr Bugeja said.
