New Kercem parish priest

Fr Ignatius Borg of Xaghra will shortly be installed as the new parish priest of Kercem. He succeeds Mgr Mario Grech, who was consecrated Bishop of Gozo last January.

Earlier this year, at a concelebrated Mass, Fr Borg bid farewell to the Nazarene community and the church he led for 14 years. During another service Canon Anthony Refalo Rapa became rector of Jesus of Nazareth church.

Fr Borg led a concelebrated thanksgiving Mass and bid farewell to his native parish Xaghra last Sunday. He concelebrated with the archpriest of Xaghra, Mgr Carmelo Refalo, and archpriest emeritus Mgr Eucharist Sultana. Mgr Refalo paid tribute to Fr Borg for the dedication with which he served the Nazarene community and expressed his conviction that he will succeed in his pastoral work in Kercem.

Fr Borg thanked all those who helped him throughout his last years as rector, particularly Mgr Refalo and Mgr Sultana.
