¤ The new parish priest of Kercem, Fr Ignatius Borg, accompanied by vicars Canon Karm Borg and Fr Roberto Gauci, is paying a short visit to the Jesus of Nazareth church today at 4 p.m. He will be greeted by the new rector, Canon Anton Refalo. Fr Borg will then visit Our Lady of Victory Basilica where he will be greeted by archpriest Mgr Carmelo Refalo.

A carcade will leave Xaghra square for Kercem parish church. From Salvatore Busuttil Square, Fr Borg will be accompanied by the St Gregory and Victory bands. At 5.30, Bishop Mario Grech will lead a concelebrated Mass. The Stella Maris choir and orchestra, under the direction of Mro Carmel P. Grech, will perform Nazzareno Refalo's Mass to St Anthony. Refreshments will later be served in front of the church.

¤ The Gozitan Missionary Support Group is holding a tea tombola in aid of Gozitan missionaries in the Third World at the Crystal Palace, Marsalforn, today at 4 p.m. Tickets may be obtained from Georgette Bezzina, tel: 2155-5709 or Vicky Said (2155-3282).

¤ To mark Mother's Day, the Cana Movement is holding a Mass for deceased mothers at St Mary Cemetery, Victoria, today at 4.15 p.m. Mass will be said by Fr George Borg, the movement's Gozo director.

¤ Bronk Productions are staging the three-act comedy Il-Mara tal-Ministru at the Xewkija parish centre today at 7 p.m., with the participation of Is-Sur Gawdenz Bilocca and his team. Tickets are obtainable from the parish centre. For more information call 9902-0786.

¤ A coffee morning, organised by the friends of ATC Ghajnsielem, is being held at the adult training centre in Ghajnsielem on Friday at 9. Tickets at Lm1.50 are available from The Bazaar, Victoria, tel: 2156-1668.

¤ A pizza night is being held at San Lawrenz Primary School hall on Friday, to celebrate Mother's Day. Tickets are available from the school or Ladies' Circle members.

¤ A buffet in aid of the Franciscan Sisters' School of Xaghra is being held at Palazzo Margherita, Sannat, on Saturday at 7 p.m. There will be spot prizes and tombola. Tickets may be obtained from the school in the mornings and from the convent in the evenings (tel: 2155-6998).

¤ The Cultural Organising Committee is presenting the one-man drama Il-Qassis by actor Mario Micallef at the Ministry for Gozo hall on May 26 at 7.30 p.m. Entrance is free, however tickets must be collected from the Culture Office on Independence Square, Victoria, during office hours.

¤ The Don Bosco Summer Club 2006 opens at the Don Bosco Oratory on July 3. There will be indoor and outdoor sports, arts and crafts, drama, music, singing, dancing, excursions, and other entertainment and educational activities for children aged five to 13 every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 9 a.m. and noon until August 31. Application forms are available from the Oratory until May 31.
