BoV publish poster to mark Birkirkara's title success
Innovative presentation ceremony planned for Sunday
A commemorative poster featuring the squad of Birkirkara, the new champions of Maltese football, has been published by Bank of Valletta, the title sponsors of the MFA leagues.
The first copy of the poster was presented to Victor Zammit, the Birkirkara chairman, by Charles Borg, Executive Head, CEO's Office at BoV, during a courtesy visit to the club premises.
Zammit, the Birkirkara supremo, thanked BoV for donating posters to the club in recognition of their title triumph.
"We are very proud to have prevailed in this year's hard-fought championship, the second in Birkirkara's history," Zammit remarked.
"This championship is our present to all the supporters who stayed loyal to the team through the good times and the bad."
For his part, Borg praised Birkirkara's bold efforts in landing the Premier League title. "Birkirkara have shown that they were the best team this season and therefore deserve the title as BoV Premier League champions," Borg said.
The BoV official also announced that his company will hold an innovative presentation ceremony on Sunday when Birkirkara will receive the Premier League trophy after their final league match against Sliema Wanderers, to be played at the National Stadium.
Without giving anything away about BoV's plans, Borg said: "We have prepared a surprise for all those who will be at Ta' Qali this Sunday.
"Supporters will not only enjoy the football match but also the innovative presentation ceremony that will follow."
