2,330 thefts in three months

A total of 804 thefts were reported in February, 777 in March and 749 last month, information given in Parliament yesterday shows. As in previous months, the highest amount of thefts - 250 in February, 231 in March and 261 last month - were thefts from cars. There were 73 house burglaries in February, 78 in March and 85 last month.

The information was given by Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg in reply to a parliamentary question by Gavin Gulia (MLP).

The crime statistics also show six arson cases in February, 14 in March and 15 last month.
