The semi-finals draw of the 2006 FA Trophy will be held this evening during 'MFA Magazine', the football programme aired by Smash TV at 6.30 p.m.

The four sides still in the competition are holders Birkirkara, Sliema Wanderers, Hibernians and Floriana.

Birkirkara, who made sure of their second Premier League title ever last weekend, qualified to the semi-finals after ousting Valletta 2-0 after extra-time.

Sliema reached the last four after beating Marsaxlokk 2-0 while Hibernians edged Hamrun Spartans 1-0.

In the other quarter-final, Floriana, the less-quoted team in the last four, eliminated last year's finalists Msida St Joseph 2-0.

Birkirkara are looking to complete a memorable league and cup double. For the Wanderers, the KO competition arrives at the right time as they seek to make up for the upset of missing out on a fourth consecutive league title.

Hibernians and Floriana will both hope to avoid Birkirkara in the semi-finals as a meeting with 'The Valley' club in the May 26 final would guarantee them a place in next season's UEFA Cup.

The semi-finals are scheduled for May 19 and 20 at Ta' Qali with kick-off times set at 7.30 p.m. and 5 p.m. respectively.
