Regarding Vince Marshall's stunted campaign to protest against The Da Vinci Code film, the Curia (which did not give its blessing to Mr Marshall's planned pilgrimage), ought to know that Archbishop Angelo Amato, a top Vatican official, recently and publicly encouraged Catholics around the world to launch organised protests against The Da Vinci Code film just as some had done in 1988 to protest against Martin Scorsese's The Last Temptation Of Christ.

It would seem that Mr Marshall's effort was consistent with Archbishop Amato's call.
