Losing weight guidelines

A new booklet, published by Nestlé Malta, provides information and practical guides on healthier living.

The Nestlé Fitness Plan - Healthy Habits All Year Round is part of a new campaign promoting Nestlé's Fitness Cereals.

The booklet, which is both in Maltese and English, was compiled by the local branch's consultant nutritionist. Apart from referring to the risks and implications of being overweight, it contains guidelines that help people calculate whether they have excess body fat and gives tips on how to start losing weight healthily.

It highlights the importance of exercising, contains a typical eating plan, a weight loss plan, tips on de-stressing while losing weight and it also helps readers learn more about the importance of calorie counting.

"Through this publication we would like to show people that it is very possible to lose weight but not through crash diets. Research shows that people following crash diets tend to put weight back on quicker than those who follow a long-term healthy eating plan with realistic weight-loss goals," a spokesman for Nestlé Malta said.

Consumers who would like a copy of the booklet should send an sms - costing 25 cents including VAT - on 5061 5100 with their name and address and they will receive a free copy by post.
