Farewell concert for Fabrizio Faniello

Fabrizio Faniello, Malta's representative at this year's Eurovision Song for Europe Festival, will be hosted to a huge farewell concert in his honour at the Bay Street tourist complex in St Julians on Sunday at 6.30 p.m. prior to his departure to Athens.

The singer, who has just released his new CD I Do for sale in Sweden, will be leaving Malta for Sweden, Estonia and Finland on a promotional tour before proceeding to Athens.

The popular pre-Eurovision farewell concert is now an established feature at Bay Street and this year the event at the complex will be even bigger, a spokesman said.

The concert will see the involvement of all the singers who took part in Malta's Song for Europe Festival, held earlier this year. It will also feature a special guest star, last year's Malta Song winner Chiara. Fabrizio Faniello is expected to sing at about 8 p.m.

Following the concert, the singer will be invited to leave his hand print in Malta's very own Celebrity Street within the complex - a tradition Bay Street reserves for its most significant guests. Later, he will be meeting fans and signing autographs at the Go Mobile outlet.

Fabrizio Faniello and Chiara will be arriving in a chauffeur-driven car courtesy of John's Garage.

The first winners of Bay Street's on-going shop and win competition together with the winners of the Sunday Circle competition nominating Fabrizio Faniello for Celebrity Street's Hall of Fame will also be chauffeur-driven to the complex by John's Garage.
