I wonder whose bright idea it was of using Floriana primary school (which is next to St Publius church) as an exam centre on April 29 when St Publius feast was being celebrated.

Students were expected to complete their English Matsec exam paper with church bells ringing, singing floating in from the church nearby and with pigeons flying into the examination hall. With the mayhem one could hardly hear oneself think.

Some consideration and planning is the least we expect from the Education Department. I am sure that if the authorities had checked they would have realised that it was a festa weekend at Floriana.

Please note that by no means am I blaming the Church but rather those responsible for organising the examination centres. I am sure the candidates would appreciate an explanation.
