Five arrested over drugs

Five people were detained by drug squad police after ecstasy, cannabis resin and heroin was found in their possession over the weekend.

A 30-year-old from Naxxar who is well known to the police was the first to be arrested after being found in possession of a small quantity of heroin.

A search in his Bugibba apartment yielded 39 grammes of heroin. Some of it was in sachets ready to be sold, the police said.

More drug finds were made at a party in Paceville, where four men were arrested after being found in possession of ecstasy and cannabis resin.

The suspects range in age from 20 to 26 and one is a Ukranian.
