The Qala Primary School prize day saw a programme of performances by all the children attending the school.
The kindergarten and Year One children sang and acted out the song Ahna l-koki. Years Four, Five and Six pupils presented a marvellous musical titled The Goblin Next Door about a woodland neighbourhood of fairies and pixies and the like. The musical was appealing to the children who performed it, and this was brought across to the audience very well.
The school choir was formed of students from Years Three and Four.
In her prize day speech, school head Maria Buttigieg explained the school's mission statement and the current year's school development plan, the key areas being literacy and creative writing. She also mentioned the meetings that are held for parents throughout the scholastic year, and the spiritual, educational, social, extra-curricular, health and safety activities that are regularly held at the school.
Gozo Minister Giovann Debono, Carmel Attard, ADE, and Archpriest Joe Zammit delivered the prizes to the children who did well in last year's annual exams and to those who took part in various activities, such as football, netball and Carnival.
