Students of St Joseph Boys` Junior Lyceum in Paola washing cars at St Patrick`s to raise funds for a rehabilitation ward at Mount Carmel Hospital

Form 3 and 5 students of the Voluntary Work Group of St Joseph Boys' Junior Lyceum, Paola recently participated in a fund-raising activity held at St Patrick's car park in Sliema.

The car wash was organised to raise funds for the refurbishment of a rehabilitation ward at Mount Carmel Hospital and also to purchase some equipment.

The activity was organised by Ms D. Briffa and Ms S. Bezzina to help students realise the importance of voluntary work as well as to participate in activities with their teachers within an informal setting, outside school.

In fact, both the students and the many teachers who turned up to lend a helping hand enjoyed the experience tremendously.

This was the third activity organised by the school's voluntary group, and the sum raised amounted to Lm125.

The two previous activities were helping younger children with their homework at the missionaries of charity in Cospicua and Christmas carolling at St Luke's Hospital.

Special thanks go to the Salesian Brothers who very kindly offered their premises and water for car washing.
