Can anyone please enlighten me as to whether the litter wardens patrol the whole island? It certainly does not seem like it in Marsascala.

Early each morning, before the street cleaners do their, job the promenade is strewn with empty pizza boxes and other takeaway containers. These can especially be seen in front of the popular takeaways.

Warning signs carrying the litter fines should be displayed in every takeaway, aimed at those selfish Maltese who just cannot be bothered to walk a few paces to the nearest litter bin but just dispose of their rubbish under the bench they are sitting on. Unfortunately some people just cannot learn unless they are penalised.

If the litter wardens are actually doing their job then they should come to Marsascala and enforce the law there. The government can give the local council a percentage of the fines which can then be used to embellish our locality and construct our unbuilt roads. There is no doubt that Marsascala would be one of the richest councils in Malta if this was done.
