Star Track - 2006

The Malta Amateur Athletic Association, in collaboration with the Kunsill Malti ghall-Isport is organising another Star Track on Monday at 9 a.m. at Marsa.

Star Track is a programme of basic sportive events which are meant for children, aged between six and 11 years, to enjoy themselves while they are introduced to the basic skills of athletics.

This year's event is being held under the guidance of four MAAA Event Coaches, all IAAF Level 2 certified. They will be assisted by some of the athletes who won medals in last year's GSSE in Andorra.

During Monday's two-hour activity, the children will be introduced to throwing the javelin, throwing the ball, standing long jumping, a 40m hurdle sprint and an obstacle race. Registration is at 8.30 a.m.
