A 29-year-old man from Luqa is in danger of dying after a traffic accident at Ta' Kandja, limits of Siggiewi, yesterday.

The police said they were informed at about 3.30 p.m. that a traffic accident had occurred in Ta' Kandja Road.

Officers went on site and preliminary investigations indicated that a Mercedes truck driven by a 32-year-old man from Gudja was involved in a collision with a Toyota Tercel. The truck, the police said, was going from Siggiewi to Mqabba and the other vehicle was coming from the opposite direction.

The Toyota driver was rushed to hospital in an ambulance and he was found to be in danger of dying. The truck driver was not injured.

Duty Magistrate Joe Cassar was informed and appointed a number of experts to help in an inquiry.

The police are investigating.
