Obituary
FALZON. On April 23, in San Francisco, California, JOE (Tac-Ciliel), of Rabat, aged 69. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Agnes née Sapiano, his daughters Connie and Vicky and her fiancé Stephen Vella, his brother Charlie and his wife Ciska of Brisbane, Australia, his sisters Sylvia and Rita and her husband Charles Galea (ex-Superintendent of Police), nephews and nieces, other relatives, in-laws and friends. - R.I.P.
A Mass for the repose of his soul will be said today at 7 p.m. at Ta' Giezu church, Rabat.

Special air fares
Air Malta has launched special return fares to 19 destinations up to June 25.
The airline has issued special return fares to Palermo, Reggio Calabria and Tunis at Lm29; Athens, Bucharest, Budapest, Geneva, Munich, Naples, Prague, Vienna and Zurich at Lm49 and flights to Amsterdam, Berlin, Cairo, Casablanca, Cologne, Dusseldorf and Hamburg from Lm59.
The fares exclude taxes and charges. A limited number of seats are available and certain conditions may apply.

Course On EU Funds
The Nadur local council has launched the Start Up project, consisting of 70 hours of lessons focused on European Union funding and project management.
The course is divided in four main modules giving a general overview of EU funding, agricultural policy and rural development, sectoral funds and project cycle management.
The course addresses 15 people with various interests in the areas of culture, social affairs, education, tourism and agriculture. Participants will also have 20 hours of private assistance in the development of personal projects.
Weddings Fair Prizes
Four winners have received prizes from the Weddings Fair management after the close of the second Weddings Fair at the Eden Arena.
The first to receive her prize was Julie Agius, who received Lm275 worth of wines and spirits, kindly offered by Antonio Piscopo Wines and Spirits.
Claire Abela was given a white gold collier with multicoloured pearls, presented to her by Victor Azzopardi Jewellers.
Another prize was offered by Kymono, of San Gwann. It consisted in a stylish, crystal oil candle holder and was won by Joseph Vella.
Jana Brown won a beauty treatment kindly offered by The Beauty Studio, Intercontinental Hotel.
Course On Psyche
An evening course on the study of behaviour and the psyche will be run by the council of St Francis of Assisi Secondary School, in Sta Venera, starting on May 3 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The course consists of 13 two-hour lessons, twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays, given by Vitale Verri in Italian, although basic parts of the exposition will be translated into Maltese.
Visuals or video projections will facilitate understanding during the lecture while handouts for further study and reference will be available.
Applications are on a first come, first served basis accepting the first 30 applicants. Application forms are available at the school by phoning 7949 1034 or 9986 2045 for further information.
Road Closed
Kennedy Drive at St Paul's Bay junction with Il-Korp Tal-Pijunieri and John F. Kennedy streets will be closed for traffic today between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Abandoned puppies
A family of four Labrador puppies, two male and two female, aged two-and-a-half months, are in need of a home. The puppies were found in a field on the outskirts of Zabbar and are under the care of the Abandoned Animals Association (AAA).
The AAA is raising awareness about abandoned animals next to the Fortizza, in Sliema, between Friday and Sunday, from 4 to 10 p.m. It can be contacted on 7929 7930/9946 4182.
Power Cuts
