Obituary

BALDACCHINO. On April 23, at St Luke's Hospital, CARMELO, aged 77, of Luqa, former manager at Malta Drydocks and Enemalta and honorary president of Ghaqda Muzikali Sant'Andrija, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church.
He leaves to mourn his sister Adreana and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 2.30 p.m. for Luqa parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Luqa cemetery. The funeral will be accompanied by the Sant'Andrija band. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be appreciated.

MAGRI. On Apri 23, BR ANTHONY MAGRI, SJ, aged 75, went to meet the Risen Lord comforted by the rites of Holy Mother Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brethren of the Society of Jesus, his brother Joseph and his wife Frida, nephews and nieces, other relatives and innumerable friends in Malta and Rome.
Mass praesente cadavere will be said today at 4 p.m., at Loyola House, Naxxar, followed by interment at the Naxxar cemetery. May he rest in the peace of the Risen Lord.

ZAMMIT TABONA. On April 23, GODFREY, aged 93, widower of Maude née Meli, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughter Maryanne and her husband George Zammit Briffa, his son Lewis and his wife Theresa née Milanes, his grandchildren Kevin Zammit Briffa and his wife Roberta, Jackie and her husband Steve Chetcuti, Sharon and Marc Aquilina, Sandra and her fiancé Patrice Peyre, his great-grandchildren Emma, Timothy and Rebecca, his sister-in-law Terry Zammit Tabona, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves Zammit Clapp Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for the Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be appreciated.

PUGLISEVICH - Chev. JOSEPH MARY PUGLISEVICH, BEM, 1905-1969, playwright, journalist and politician. On the 37th anniversary of his demise. Remembered with fondest love and respect by his four children and respective spouses, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ever in our hearts and prayers.

SALIBA. Cherished memories of our dear father CARMELO, resting in the loving arms of the Lord. Always in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. George, Violet de Marco and Madeleine Sophie James.

Bible Courses

The Malta Bible Society is organising eight new courses geared to helping people gain a better understanding of the Bible.

The courses, which will be held between May and June, cover a wide variety of subjects and will be led by experts in the field.

The courses will cover God and the human being in the first pages of the Bible; an introduction to the Bible; women in the Bible; John: the Easter Gospel; the Book of the Song of Songs; the Gospel and psychology; the occult and the Bible; and the meaning of the Eucharist in the Bible.

The courses will be held at the conference hall of the Malta Bible Society at 51, Gunlayer Street, Floriana.

Power Cuts

The power supply will be cut in Qala today between 8 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. at In-Nadur, Nigret, 30th October, Pope Pius IX, Pope Pius XII, Adeodata Pisani, Dun Guzepp Portelli, Il-Qala, Victory, St Francis, St Joseph, Lord Strickand, Cross, St Mary, Tas-Surgent, Temple, Ganni Vella, Wied Biljun, Wied Simar and Wileg streets and Republic Square.

There will also be a power cut in Zurrieq between 7.30 a.m. and noon in parts of Haddiema, San Bartilmew, Santa Katerina, Dun Guzepp Zammit, Pietru Pawl Saydon and l-Armerija streets and Mattia Preti Square.
