San Marino GP statistics

¤ Renault's Fernando Alonso has led the championship for more than a year and, 14 points ahead of team-mate Giancarlo Fisichella and McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen, is sure to stay in front until at least the European Grand Prix on May 7.

¤ Renault have won the last four races, including the 2005 season-ender in China. They also won the first four races of last season.

¤ Alonso's win in Australia was the 10th of his career and Renault's 28th. Ferrari have had 183 wins since 1950, McLaren are second with 148 and Williams third on 113.

¤ Michael Schumacher has a record 84 wins. The next most successful active driver is Briton David Coulthard (Red Bull) with 13.

¤ Briton Jenson Button has gone 103 races without a win.
