Buy products with the Green Dot™

Unabated waste generation is a sad side effect of modern society. Waste recycling is one effort towards reducing wastage of resources.

Industry recognises the need for recycling discarded packages and expresses this commitment by showing the Green Dot™ on their products.

The Green Dot symbol means those companies trading products bearing this symbol are committed to recycle the packaging of that product and are participating in a recovery scheme.

GreenPak is part of ProEurope, the international organisation for Green Dot™ schemes.

It is authorised to administer and manage such a scheme in Malta and is fully authorised by MEPA to operate a compliance scheme for the nation-wide collection and recycling of packaging waste.

GreenPak is committed towards the recycling of waste and has embarked on an intense promotional campaign encouraging the recycling of packaging. The campaign urges consumers to buy products with the Green Dot™ symbol and help in improving the Maltese environment.

Speaking about the initiative Denise Vassallo from GreenPak said everybody stood to gain from this initiative.

Malta must recycle tonnes of packaging waste and it is the responsibility of importers, resellers, manufacturers, retailers and distributors who place products on the Maltese market to ensure that this happens.

By buying products that carry the Green Dot mark, customers will be supporting the efforts being made by industry to clean up our environment.

GreenPak's intent is to improve the environment through the recycling of packaging. An educational campaign explaining what is packaging, why it is so important and how the Maltese society can achieve higher recycling is an integral part of this promotional effort.
