The second game from the Kinnie League semi-finals will be played tomorrow with BUPA Luxol and Hamrun Go Mobile both starting the weekend leading the best-of-five series 1-0 over Pembroke and Siggiewi Smina respectively.

Pembroke lost the first match against Luxol on Wednesday. They had playmaker Julian Naudi back in their squad for the first time this season and had a good start after taking a 14-6 lead.

But Luxol then switched to full court zone press to surprise their opponents and hold a 36-24 lead at half-time. Luxol had various players hit by fouls near the end but still managed to preserve their lead in a frantic finale to win 76-65.

Hamrun are coming from two successive defeats in the regular season but the champions should start favourites to go 2-0 up at the expense of modest Siggiewi.

The women's MBA Shield continues this weekend as well with more matches from the group stages.

Luxol Vodafone must beat Kerygma to keep their hopes alive after defeat to holders Depiro who should not fail to clinch another victory, this time against SN Suns.

Tomorrow, Naxxar vs Loyola sees both sides needing victory to continue their fight for a semi-final berth.
