A 19-year-old man was yesterday charged with assaulting and slightly injuring a man and his son in Birkirkara last summer.

Philip Cassar, of Birkirkara, pleaded not guilty to assaulting Saviour Mallia and his son Ronnie and causing Lm164 damage to Ronnie Mallia's car on July 16, 2005.

Police Inspector Kevin Farrugia prosecuted.
