Buses will run until 12.30 a.m. during the International Fireworks Festival to be held in Grand Harbour on April 29 and 30.

Tickets for trips leaving after 11 p.m. will cost 50c.

Fireworks enthusiasts who watch the spectacle from the Valletta Waterfront can make use of the MCP car park in Floriana, with tickets costing Lm1 per car. Parkers will guide motorists through a tunnel leading from the car park to the waterfront.

The fireworks festival, organised by the Malta Tourism Authority, will this year include an international competition among the fireworks companies taking part.

The Waterfront will be buzzing with entertainment, including music and animation, food and drinks stalls, to create a Maltese festa atmosphere.

Tickets to the enclosure on the quay of the Waterfront's laguna, where the land-based entertainment will be taking place, sell for Lm1.50 or for Lm3 for those who prefer elevated seating.

Further details on transport options, as well as activities taking place at the Waterfront, are available by calling VISET on 2125 2610 or on marketing@visteplc.com.

The fireworks will be let off from barges moored between Senglea Point, Magazine/ Laboratory Wharf and Pinto Wharf between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. The barges will be put in place at around 4 p.m. on Saturday and removed immediately after the show on Sunday.

The Malta Maritime Authority has informed mariners that part of Grand Harbour will be closed to all vessels between 4 p.m. and 1 a.m. on the festival dates.

No boats will be allowed to enter the restricted area, except by special permission from the executive director of ports by arrangement through the Malta Tourism Authority.

In case of bad weather, the event will be postponed to the following weekend.
