I heartily thank Frans H. Said and Frank Sargent (April 1 and 6 respectively) for the very kind words they have written on my behalf on my turning 86 (not 80!).
Their words brought back so many memories of performances on stages in Malta and Gozo, those first nights, rehearsals, recordings, live broadcasts (with impromptu and improvised sound effects), the satisfaction, sufferings, and all that show business can offer. Mr Sargent made me relive the two visits to Australia, one with Johnny Catania and earlier, with Johnny Navarro - occasions I can hardly forget. Thanks, again.
I always happily helped as much as possible the tireless organisation of charity shows Iz-Ziju Frans, one of which, a grand variety show in an RAF hangar at Luqa for hundreds of children, was attended by Archbishop Michael Gonzi.
My greatest satisfaction, in my long carrier, besides entertaining patients in hospitals and performing charity shows, is of having worked with such talented artistes like Guza Caruana, Rosi Ghirlando, Armando Urso, Johnny Catania and Johnny Navarro, Gemma Portelli, Jerry Bencini and others, some of whom, sadly, are not with us anymore.
To my friend Frank, Down Under, it is really nice to hear from him, a friend of so many years back, and to see him bestowing unto me that grand title of "great" entertainer. Really!
