Bugibba street

I refer to Mr Joseph Tanti's letter about St Anthony Street, Bugibba (The Sunday Times, March 19).

Last year this short stretch of street was open to traffic from both sides but the chaos and the arguments we used to witness every day, especially at night time, were unbearable.

Cars used to be parked on one side despite yellow lines and a 'Keep clear', leaving it inaccessible to whoever wanted to enter his garage in the middle of this street. with the unavoidable arguments and car horns in the early hours of the morning.

Permanent residents can all have access to enter or leave, and to let ambulances or fire engines in by means of a remote control supplied by the local council.

I thank St Paul's Bay council for taking such action and restoring this street to how it was originally meant to be - pedestrianised.
