Obituary

MUSCAT. On April 13, at St Luke's Hospital, VICTOR, aged 68 passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sons Jean Pierre and his wife Natalie, Clive and Steffi, Kevin and his wife Sue, his grandchildren Sean, Petra, Fleur, Erica, Benji, Pippa, Kyra, Michela and Jamie, his sisters, their families, relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital on Monday, April 17, at 8.30 a.m. for Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception parish church, Ta' l-Ibrag, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be appreciated. Lord grant him eternal rest.

PULLICINO. On April 12, at St Luke's Hospital, STELLA née Spiteri, widow of Carmelo, of Sliema, aged 75, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Rita and her husband Victor Abela, Carmen, George and his wife Lourdes, her only granddaughter Mattea, her brothers and sisters, Joe, Polly, Lily, Tony, Mary, her brother-in-law Joe, their families, relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital on Monday, April 17, at 1.30 p.m. for St Gregory's parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Ursuline Sisters Creche, Sliema, will be appreciated. May God grant her eternal rest.

SPITERI. On April 14, at Casa Leone, Carmen née Attard, widow of John, of St Julians, aged 82, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Rita and her husband Louis Azzopardi, Francis, Joe and his wife Maria, Monica, widow of her son George, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, her brothers, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Casa Leone tomorrow at 1 p.m. for Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery chapel, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be greatly appreciated.
May God grant her eternal rest.

Requiem Mass

Today being the Trigesima Die from the death of CROTTY CLARE née Cesareo. A Mass will be offered for the repose of her soul on Monday at 6.00 p.m. at the chapel of Gesu l-Habib, Patri Marianu Street, Sliema.

Traffic Diversions

Traffic coming from Rue D'Argens towards Gzira and Sliema will be diverted from Monday until May 15, due to road works.

Part of Rue D'Argens from the junction with Msida Street and St Albert Street, will be closed to traffic during this period.

Traffic from Msida Street will be diverted toward the Strand, Sliema, while traffic from Gerry Zammit Street will be diverted to Nazju Ellul Street, Willie Arena Street, Edgar Bernard Street, Sliema Street, Madonna tal-Gebla Street and St Albert Street, onto Rue D'Argens.

Traffic from Rue D'Argens to Valletta will be diverted to St Albert Street, Luqa Briffa Street, Sliema Street, Nazju Ellul Street, Gerry Zammit Street and back onto Rue D'Argens.

Route bus 60 from Valletta to Sliema will be diverted to The Ferries, Manwel Dimech Street and Rudolph Street. Route bus 60 from Sliema to Valletta will be diverted to St Albert Street, Madonna tal-Gebla Street, Sliema Street, Nazju Ellul Street and Gerry Zammit Street.

Route bus 63 will be diverted to Gerry Zammit Street, Nazju Ellul Street, Sliema Street, Madonna tal-Gebla Street, St Albert Street, Rue D'Argens, Rudolph Street and Sir Adrian Dingli Street.

Postal Retail Outlets Closed

Maltapost's postal retail outlets, with the exception of the one in Castille Place, Valletta, and that in Victoria, will not open for business today. All sub post offices and licensed stamp vendors will offer postal services as usual. Collection and delivery of mail will still be carried out by Maltapost.

All postal services will resume on Monday.

The electricity supply will be suspended in Mosta today from 7 to 11 a.m. at: Il-Borgamott, Il-Farinal, Bingemma, Guzè Bonnici, Ta' Bordin, Il-Buskett, Girgor Buttigieg, Dun Grezz Buttigieg, L-Isqof M.F. Caritas Appointment

Fr Karm Farrugia has been nominated by Archbishop Joseph Mercieca as the assistant delegate of Caritas Malta's social work and charity secretariat.

Fr Farrugia was born in Qormi in 1950 and was ordained priest in June 1977. His first pastoral work was in Cospicua, after which he moved to his hometown.

He was appointed parish priest of Ghaxaq in January 1983. He became archpriest of Zejtun in 1989 and archpriest of Zurrieq in January 1997.
