The 17th edition of the BJs Music Marathon kicks off on Monday and - fuelled by non-stop live music and goodwill - will run straight on until Sunday at midnight.
This year's marathon, entitled The Palatino BJ's Music Marathon 2006, will be opened at 5 p.m. by Chiara who will be followed by series of other live bands and musicians.
All proceeds from the week-long event, held at the popular Paceville jazz bar, will go towards Wishing Others Well (WOW), the social arm of the Millennium Chapel in Paceville which is run by Fr Hillary Tagliaferro.
"The marathon provides an opportunity for musicians to showcase their talent for a good cause because the money collected will go to help families in need," Fr Tagliaferro, urging people to attend.
Over 50 bands and musicians will participate in this year's marathon. They include Fire, William Mangion, Paul Giordimaina, Frenzy Mono, Fakawi, Breathe, Sammy Murgo & Alex Manché, Stöne Shiva, Steve Brincat & Band and Grimaud.
