Accused over drug trafficking

A 30-year-old man was charged with heroin trafficking and remanded in custody after a magistrate heard police explain how he sold drugs from his home to maintain his addiction.

Magistrate Joseph Cassar heard Tony Armando Zahra, of Mosta, plead not guilty to the possession of heroin and trafficking in the drug on and before Wednesday.

He was remanded in custody after the magistrate noted there was a risk he would tamper with evidence.

Police Inspector Pierre Grech prosecuted.

Joseph Brincat was defence counsel.
