Middlesbrough beat Charlton Athletic 4-2 in their FA Cup quarter-final replay last night and will meet West Ham United in the last four.
Australia's Mark Viduka scored the best goal of the night with Boro's fourth in the 77th minute after earlier strikes by Fabio Rochemback, James Morrison and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
Charlton's replies came from midfielder Bryan Hughes and an own goal by Boro captain Gareth Southgate. Boro led 2-1 at half-time.
Middlesbrough are on course for two cup successes this season after reaching the UEFA Cup semi-finals last week.
Champions and Premier League leaders Chelsea meet Liverpool in the other FA Cup semi-final.
Arsenal held in the league
Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw by lowly Portsmouth yesterday as their hopes of finishing fourth in the Premier League suffered a blow.
The result left Arsenal four points behind rivals Tottenham in the race for the final qualifying spot in next season's Champions League.
Portsmouth stay in the bottom three but climbed one spot to 18th level on points with Birmingham.
