British artist Derek Roberts is holding his first solo exhibition at Gallery G in Lija.
Mr Roberts' exhibition is made up of around 70 original paintings, decorative art and pieces of furniture which he has been working on since 2002.
The multi-talented Mr Roberts, who spends his time between Sannat and Yorkshire Dales in England, restarted painting after his wife Mary died following a long illness.
Mr Roberts paints abstracts, land and seascapes, architectural, human and animal subjects usually in acrylics, with a bold use of colour and texture, and his influences and style differ widely. His inspiration comes from both the work of the old masters and skilled craftsmen throughout the ages and also from Art Deco design.
The exhibition at Gallery G in Sir Ugo Mifsud Street will run until April 23 and is open to the public between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays and 9.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. on Saturdays. The exhibition is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
