I'd like to bring the following quote to the attention of the readers and the authorities concerned. It is taken from an EU booklet called Better Off Europe.

"Sports fans may not know it, but the EU competition watchdog looks after them too. It has intervened, for example, to make sure that contracts for the TV broadcasting of football matches in England's Premier League and the Bundesliga in Germany are fully open to competition and that viewers have access to a wider variety of services and service providers.

"The European Union also sees to it that major sporting events, starting with the Olympic Games and World Cup football, are available to viewers in all EU countries via free channels and not reserved for pay-TV services."

This does not seem to be the case in Malta. The situation needs to be looked into so that Maltese citizens enjoy what others in EU countries seem to have.
