Two new lines will be calling at the Malta Freeport as from this month, the company said.
The Mediterranean Gulf Express Service (MGX Service) and Mediterranean Line Service will be joining Amerigo and Epic 4, two new services which started their weekly calls at the Freeport last month.
"The additional services will not only be strengthening the business opportunities available for the local entrepreneurs in the United States but, for the first time ever, the Freeport will be offering connections to West African ports," the company said.
The MGX Service started calling at the Malta Freeport terminals on Sunday, while the Mediterranean Line Service will make its first call on April 30.
The company said the "brisk operational activity" at the Freeport was being complemented by various development projects to expand capacity.
"Malta Freeport is confident that these developments will render its service more competitive thus strengthening its standing in the region. This widens the opportunities for the company to secure additional business to the Port," the company said.
