Former Labour activist Joseph Camilleri, currently engaged in a war of words with Labour MP Anton Refalo, yesterday challenged Dr Refalo to repeat comments he made under Parliamentary privilege last Tuesday so that he could take legal action.
Mr Camilleri last week said Dr Refalo had phoned him and threatened retaliation after a speech he made at the PN general council.
Dr Refalo denied he threatened Mr Camilleri in any way.
The former activist said it untrue that when Dr Refalo was Parliamentary Secretary for Gozo he had sought a transfer to a post within the Sterilisation Unit in Gozo to the detriment of the incumbent, Louis Attard. He had sought to fill a vacant position at the unit, Mr Camilleri said.
When he learned that Mr Attard was to be transferred to make way for him, he immediately refused to move to the unit until he was assured that Mr Attard was retained, as had in fact happened.
