'No foul play' in Mgarr woman's death

A woman was yesterday found dead in her home in the outskirts of Mgarr.

Mary Agius, 56, who lived on her own, had not been seen for some days and her corpse was found by a relative who passed by to see her.

After repeated calls remained unanswered, the relative broke into the residence in Triq il-Bokka tac-Carcara, between Mgarr and Gnejna, only to find the woman dead in her bedroom.

The police were soon on site as the circumstances of the woman's death initially appeared abnormal.

However, police sources later confirmed that investigators had ruled out foul play as it became evident that the woman had died of natural causes.
