Dog sanctuary is needed

How hypercritical of George Pullicino (the Environment Minister) to welcome and open a seminar for young people from five different countries to discuss animal welfare and then the following week an eviction order is served on Rennie Scicluna's animal shelter in Pembroke. It smacks of double standards.

Malta desperately needs this sanctuary - even the authorities unable to find alternative care for stray or rescued dogs have taken animals to this shelter. Hard working people like Mr Scicluna, prepared to devote time and energy to these animals, are hard to find.

My own family have adopted one of these dogs. I would like to make a plea for more Maltese dog lovers to support Mr Scicluna and give one of these animals a good home.
