A man has been cleared of misappropriation charges to the tune of Lm36,246 after a magistrate ruled there was no sufficient evidence.

Francis Said, 65, of St Julians was acquitted of the misappropriation of the money and defrauding Medserv Limited in 1997 and the previous six years.

Magistrate Silvio Meli presided over the case.

Police Inspector Joseph Cordina prosecuted.
