In today's world, the means of communication have grown rapidly and now, by means of the improvements which have taken place in technology, every message can be better sent and in the comfort of our home. It is in this context that around three years ago, on November 13, 2003, the Augustinian Province of Malta launched its new website, in order to spread its message, at www.augmalta.org

This website, which is available in both Maltese and English versions, contains a great source of information. One can find information about the Augustinian Province of Malta, Augustinian saints, Augustinian spirituality, many links to other international Augustinian websites and numerous downloads, including games, Powerpoint presentations, screen savers and wallpapers. Two important sections are the vocational section and the prayers section.

On November 13, 2005, which was Augustinian Vocations Day, the province, with the help of the Provincial Commission for Vocations, which handles vocations, updated its vocational section in order to better reach the children, adolescents and youths who attend the monthly vocational activities and those who would like to know more about us and our activities. The new website includes a new design which strikes the eye, new articles, educational games and whatever concerns Augustinians and vocations. One can visit the new section by visiting the website and clicking on the shortcut icon, which appears at the top (orange icon) or by clicking on the vocational section in the blue menu, which comes out from the left hand side.

In order to enroot sound Christian values among the Maltese and the Gozitans, the Augustinian Province of Malta considered the prayers section as one of the important sections to work on. Consequently, in this page, which is updated daily, one can find some short daily thoughts, taken from the writings of St Augustine, bishop and Doctor of the Church. The aim of these short thoughts is to help one reflect and apply this message to its utmost. The translation from the book Augustine Day by Day by John E. Rotelle OSA, was carried out by Fr Pawl Aquilina OSA, with the help of Fr Dwardu Fenech OSA.

I encourage readers to make full use of these new online services and spread this message to all of their friends so that this activity does not stop here, but continues to prosper among the Maltese and foreigners alike. For more information, send an e-mail to support@augmalta.org.
